Will Smotrich and Ben-Gvir Shoot Down Hostage Deal? Lapid Offers to Counter

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir said on Wednesday that he had contacted Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich to request an urgent meeting aimed at coordinating their opposition to a developing agreement involving the release of hostages.

But individuals close to Smotrich pushed back, asserting, “We did not receive a request from Ben-Gvir, and no meeting was arranged with him today. Victory in Gaza is too significant and the lives of the hostages too dear for media spin.”

In response to the denial, Ben-Gvir’s office released a screenshot showing a message sent earlier in the day to Smotrich’s staff, attempting to arrange the meeting. The timestamp indicated that the message was sent after reports of Ben-Gvir’s initiative had already been made public.

As the debate over the proposed deal intensified, Opposition Leader Yair Lapid assured Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that his Yesh Atid faction would back the government if Otzma Yehudit and the Religious Zionist Party decide to withdraw from the coalition in protest of the agreement.

Lapid wrote: “Netanyahu, to counter Ben-Gvir and Smotrich’s 13 fingers (votes), you have my 23 fingers as a safety net for a hostage deal. We need to bring them all home now.”

Minister Gideon Sa’ar weighed in, stating: “There is a large majority in the government, and also among the public, in favor of a framework to release hostages. If such an opportunity arises, we must not miss it.”

Adding his voice, Yisrael Beytenu Chairman MK Avigdor Liberman said: “‘There is no greater mitzva (commandment) than redeeming captives.’ We must bring all the hostages home now.”

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump revealed on Tuesday that Israel had accepted terms that would enable a temporary halt to fighting in Gaza and the release of hostages.

“My Representatives had a long and productive meeting with the Israelis today on Gaza. Israel has agreed to the necessary conditions to finalize the 60-Day CEASEFIRE, during which time we will work with all parties to end the War,” the President wrote on Truth Social.

“The Qataris and Egyptians, who have worked very hard to help bring Peace, will deliver this final proposal. I hope, for the good of the Middle East, that Hamas takes this Deal, because it will not get better — IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” he added.

New Bill Seeks to Provide Israel With B2s & Bunker-Buster Bombs

Could Israel soon receive advanced U.S. military hardware—including B2 stealth bombers and GBU-57 bunker-buster bombs—to enable a potential independent strike on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure?

A new bipartisan bill introduced in Congress outlines that the United States would supply these powerful weapons to Israel if it is determined that Iran continues pursuing a nuclear arsenal, even after American military efforts to dismantle its nuclear sites.

The legislation is being spearheaded by Representatives Josh Gottheimer, a Democrat from New Jersey, and Mike Lawler, a Republican from New York.

The bill’s language states it “would allow President Trump to take actions to ensure that Israel is prepared for all scenarios should Iran seek to develop nuclear weapons.”

In a public statement, Gottheimer said, “Iran, the world’s leading sponsor of terrorism and one of America’s greatest enemies, must never be allowed to possess nuclear weapons. This is why I strongly supported our military actions earlier this month. Iran has killed dozens of Americans, including our service members, and repeatedly attacked our key democratic ally, Israel. Israel must be able to defend itself against Iran and ensure that Iran cannot rebuild its nuclear capabilities.”

Lawler echoed this sentiment, emphasizing, “This bill grants the President the authority to equip Israel with the tools and training it needs to deter Tehran and make the world a safer place.”

Report: Netanyahu To Ask For Guarantee On US Green Light For Future Iran Strikes

Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu is reportedly planning to press President Donald Trump for assurances that the United States will support potential Israeli military operations against Iran should Tehran resume its pursuit of nuclear weapons or develop its ballistic missile arsenal, according to a report from Kan Reshet Bet on Wednesday.

The report indicates that Netanyahu may go as far as seeking a formal written agreement from the U.S. in the form of a separate side deal, guaranteeing American backing under such circumstances.

Netanyahu confirmed on Tuesday that he would be heading to the U.S. next week for a meeting with Trump. He also said he intends to meet with Vice President Vance, Secretary of State and National Security Adviser Marco Rubio, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, and Steve Witkoff, the President’s envoy to the Middle East.

Speaking about the timing of the trip, Netanyahu stated it follows “the great victory that we achieved in Operation Rising Lion.” He emphasized that “taking advantage of the success is no less an important part of achieving the success.”

Addressing reporters, President Trump remarked that he intends to be “very firm” with Netanyahu about the need to bring an end to the conflict in Gaza during their discussions. He added that Netanyahu also “wants to end the war.”

Citing Israeli officials, Kan News reported Tuesday that Netanyahu is hoping Trump will unveil a new vision for the region, one that includes both a resolution to the Gaza war and the return of the hostages still being held.

Sgt. Yaniv Michalovitch of Rechovot Killed in Combat in Gaza

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Wednesday evening that Sergeant Yaniv Michalovitch, 19, of Rechovot, was killed in action while fighting in the northern region of the Gaza Strip. He served in the 82nd Battalion of the 7th Armored Brigade.

The same clash that claimed Sergeant Michalovitch’s life also left two members of his battalion—one a tank commander and the other a fellow soldier—critically wounded.

In a separate encounter in the same area, a soldier from the elite Egoz Unit of the Commando Brigade also sustained life-threatening injuries during fighting.

All of the injured soldiers were swiftly transported to the hospital for urgent medical care, and their families have been informed.

Rechovot Mayor Matan Dil mourned the loss of the young soldier, saying, “The heart refuses to believe. A week after Rehovot lost its citizen, Staff Sergeant Ronel Ben-Moshe – yet more bitter news is knocking on our door. Yaniv left behind his parents and two brothers. I hug you, and together with all the residents of Rehovot, I feel your immense pain.”

Netanyahu: ‘There Will Be No More Hamas, It’s Over’

Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu paid a visit to the Eilat Ashkelon Pipeline Company (EAPC) site in Ashkelon on Wednesday, accompanied by Energy Minister Eli Cohen, Minister David Amsalem, and Ashkelon Mayor Tomer Glam.

During his time there, Netanyahu inspected the EAPC energy complex, received an in-depth update from EAPC CEO Amit Shaked, and engaged in discussions with both senior company officials and employees, as well as top figures in Israel’s energy industry.

Netanyahu took the opportunity to publicly commend workers in the energy field for their dedication and contributions, particularly highlighting their efforts during Operation Rising Lion.

The Prime Minister remarked: “We are going to increase and strengthen Israel’s energy capability. We have a very considerable capability. Expected revenues from gas in the coming decade will be almost NIS 300 billion. You will recall that there were arguments about this: ‘This will destroy the Israeli economy.’ This did not destroy the Israeli economy. It is building the Israeli economy, together with other energy horizons and installations that we are building, only part of which you will hear about later.”

He went on to declare: “I am telling you – there will be no more Hamas. There will be no more Hamastan. We are not going back to that. It’s over. We will free all of our hostages.”

Anticipating criticism, Netanyahu added: “‘Really, how can one say this? These objectives are contradictory!’ What nonsense. They go together. We will complete this together, contrary to what is being said. We will eliminate Hamas down to its very foundations.”

He emphasized the strategic moment Israel is in, saying, “Our opportunities are enormous. We are not going to miss them or lose them. We will not miss these opportunities.”

Pointing to shifting global dynamics, he said, “One power declines – another rises. Yes, I know that somebody else thought that his power would rise, but things have changed a little. The rising power is the State of Israel, and this has not been without effort. There is a huge opportunity here, both to defeat our enemies and ensure our economic, national, international and energy future.”

Looking ahead, Netanyahu spoke of a broader vision: “We will link Asia, the entire Middle East and the Arabian Peninsula, with its immense energy resources, to the West. This will happen, with the help of G-d, our friends who are here with us and you. We have much to do to ensure prosperity beyond that which we can describe. I thank you. You provided all Israel, and every factory and infrastructure in Israel with the necessary energy. And when there was damage, you took action, made repairs and we continued together. We will continue together. Together we will get it done and together we will succeed.”

IDF Eliminates 2 Terrorists Who Murdered 7 Soldiers in Khan Yunis

The IDF reported that two Hamas operatives, Musab Yaser Abdallah Jilban and Abd al-Latif Musa Hajjaj Barbah, were killed in a targeted strike carried out by the Israeli Air Force under the guidance of the ISA and the 188th Brigade in Khan Yunis.

These two terrorists were responsible for the deaths of seven Israeli soldiers: Lieutenant Matan Shai Yashinovski, Staff Sergeant Alon Davidov, Staff Sergeant Ronel Ben-Moshe, Staff Sergeant Niv Radia, Sergeant Ronen Shapiro, Sergeant Shahar Manoav, and Sergeant Maayan Baruch Pearlstein. The soldiers were killed during an operation in Khan Yunis on June 24, 2025.

In its statement, the IDF emphasized its commitment to ongoing counterterrorism efforts in Gaza, saying it “will continue to operate against the terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip.”

On the day after the deadly incident, military journalist Doron Kadosh released early findings from the probe into what happened. The report revealed that the explosive device involved was not planted on the Puma armored vehicle beforehand, but was instead hurled inside by a terrorist during the attack.

The attack occurred amid active combat by the 188th Brigade in the Khan Yunis area. Prior to the fatal explosion, a fighter jet had been dispatched to strike a target in close proximity to Israeli forces. Around the same time, another platoon in the unit was targeted with RPGs and an explosive device, leaving one soldier seriously injured and another with minor wounds.

Standard operating procedures dictate that when an airstrike is imminent nearby, soldiers must seek cover inside armored vehicles to shield themselves from shrapnel and flying debris caused by the blast. In accordance with this protocol, seven soldiers temporarily entered the Puma APC as they awaited the strike.

The inquiry determined that during this brief window, a terrorist managed to rapidly approach and climb the armored vehicle. Within moments, he dropped an explosive directly into the APC while the soldiers were still inside. The initial conclusion of the investigation is that the soldiers were killed almost immediately when the device detonated.

Rev. Al Sharpton Calls On Andrew Cuomo to Drop Out of NYC Mayoral Race: ‘Look At What Is Best for the City’

Rev. Al Sharpton is publicly urging Andrew Cuomo to withdraw from the New York City mayoral race, saying that stepping aside would serve the city’s needs more effectively.

“I think, in the best interest of the legacy of Andrew Cuomo, that he ought to let them have the one-on-one race,” Sharpton said Wednesday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

“He can endorse one or the other, and let them have a battle over what is best for New York.”

Sharpton noted that he had already contacted Cuomo’s team in an attempt to convince him to step down from the race.

A spokesperson for Cuomo responded that they’re weighing their next steps carefully, keeping New Yorkers’ best interests in mind.

“Everyone is entitled to their own political opinion — we understand President Trump supports Eric Adams, and do not believe socialism is the answer,” said campaign rep Rich Azzopardi. “Most New Yorkers are not Trumpers, and most New Yorkers are not socialists — the majority lies in the middle.”

Sharpton’s remarks came just 24 hours after the full results of the Democratic primary were released, showing that socialist candidate Zohran Mamdani beat Cuomo by a double-digit margin—12 percentage points—after only three rounds in the ranked-choice process.

Just days before that, Sharpton had welcomed Mamdani to his National Action Network headquarters, providing the candidate with a platform to appeal directly to Black voters. During the visit, Sharpton appeared to support some of Mamdani’s policy ideas, including a proposal to freeze rent.

While Sharpton stopped short of giving Mamdani an official endorsement, his public statements appeared to give the candidate a significant boost.

Although Cuomo has wavered on whether he would stay in the race, his name will still appear on the ballot this November as an independent candidate. He’ll be listed alongside Mamdani, Republican contender Curtis Sliwa, and two other independents, Eric Adams and Jim Walden.

Jeff Bezos Unloads 3M Amazon Shares Worth $737M

Jeff Bezos, the executive chair and founder of Amazon, recently cashed out nearly $737 million worth of company stock in a transaction disclosed through a regulatory filing.

The filing, submitted after Tuesday’s market close, reveals that Bezos sold approximately 3.3 million shares totaling $736.7 million. The sales were executed under a 10b5-1 trading plan that Bezos put in place in March.

Following the transaction, Bezos still holds around 905 million shares in the tech behemoth. Last year, he parted with close to $5 billion worth of Amazon stock.

Bezos, 61, tied the knot with journalist Lauren Sanchez during a lavish celebration in Venice on Friday evening, drawing attention from celebrities and media alike.

According to Forbes, Bezos currently holds the position of the fourth-wealthiest individual globally, with an estimated fortune of $234.4 billion.

Bezos has a history of utilizing 10b5-1 trading plans to sell shares. In 2023 alone, he sold off 75 million shares, reaping $13.6 billion from those sales.

Data compiled by Bloomberg shows that since 2002, Bezos has sold a cumulative $44 billion in Amazon shares.

NYC Deliveryman Who Lost Five Toes In Subway Accident Wins Over $4.5 Million Per Toe From ‘Bully’ MTA

That’s one pricey set of toes.

A Bronx jury has ordered the MTA to pay $22.75 million to a bike delivery worker who lost all five toes on his left foot after falling from a deteriorated subway platform, deciding the agency should be held accountable for the life-altering injury, the NY Post reports.

The incident occurred in June 2017, when 24-year-old Maruf Hossain tripped over a damaged section of the Parkchester station platform and tumbled onto the tracks just as a train approached.

The Bangladesh-born courier suffered a catastrophic injury in the fall, losing every toe on his left foot. The impact from the train also caused his hip to become dislocated, broke his pelvis, and left him with injuries to his spine and head, according to the lawsuit he filed.

Hossain testified that he now requires round-the-clock medical attention and assistance at home to manage daily activities.

Although Hossain had initially sought $20 million in damages, the MTA reportedly attempted to resolve the case for a mere $100,000, his attorney told The NY Post.

In the end, the jury awarded him even more than he had requested—$2.75 million above the original amount.

“After years of the Transit Authority trying to bully me into an unfair settlement, the jury saw through their lies and gave me a second chance at living a normal life,” Hossain said in a statement to The Post.

His lawyer, Nick Liakas, said the trial exposed how far the Transit Authority would go to avoid accepting responsibility for a hazardous condition that endangered commuters.

“The client had tripped on a defect on the yellow portion of a very narrow train platform,” Liakas explained.

“The transit authority maintained that the plaintiff tried to commit suicide and jumped and that there was no defect at the area where he claimed to fall.

“They had a teenage witness who testified that she saw him jump in front of the train … along with a transit authority cleaner who testified he heard, ‘Don’t jump, don’t jump,’ ” the lawyer said.

“We showed that the transit authority likely authored the witness statement themselves and passed it off as an independent statement. The jury agreed.”

Three days after the incident, Hossain underwent a psychiatric evaluation at Jacobi Hospital. Early reports by EMS had suggested he may have either slipped or jumped onto the tracks.

“I did not try to kill myself, no, never,” Hossain told the examining psychiatrist, according to the assessment filed in court.

The report stated Hossain recalled it being a busy morning during Ramadan, and that the platform was packed with commuters as he made his way to his job in Lower Manhattan.

“I don’t know how I fell down. I know I did not jump or tried [sic] to kill myself, no, no way,” he said.

According to court records, doctors found no evidence of any psychiatric disorders or substance abuse in Hossain’s history.

He also denied suffering from depression, stating that he had emigrated from Bangladesh five years earlier and had aspirations of becoming an American citizen.

“I am making $1,000 a week. I am happy. Planning to get married next year,” he said in the exam, adding that he had no children.

Psychiatrist Nabil Karroum, who evaluated him, noted that Hossain “seems well adjusted” and displayed no signs of suicidal behavior.

His attorney confirmed to The Post that Hossain is now a U.S. citizen, though he remains unmarried.

Six months after the incident, Hossain filed a negligence lawsuit against the MTA, alleging that the faulty platform caused him to fall onto the tracks.

Emergency responders arriving at the scene found his toes had already been severed, with a medical expert later describing the condition of his foot as “truly mangled,” according to testimony.

Tom Stebbins, head of the Lawsuit Reform Alliance of New York, pointed to the case as another example of the state’s tendency toward large jury awards.

“While I can’t comment on a specific case without knowing all the facts, we know New York’s civil justice system is ranked as one of the most costly in the nation and is a magnet for nuclear verdicts — runaway verdicts of over $10 million — that drain public budgets and divert funds from government services and infrastructure improvements,” Stebbins said in a statement.

“The City pays out more in settlements and verdicts than the next largest cities combined.”

The jury’s decision may still be appealed or challenged in post-trial motions.

“The MTA is reviewing the verdict while assessing all legal options,” MTA spokesperson Meghan Keegan told The Post.

Though the $22.75 million verdict is significant, it doesn’t top the list of jury awards against the MTA.

In a separate case last year, a man struck by a train received a $90 million jury verdict—though that amount was later reduced to under $40 million through post-trial motions.

Also in 2024, jurors awarded $72.5 million to a cancer patient who had been hit by an MTA bus.

And in 2019, a young man paralyzed by a falling railroad tie secured a jaw-dropping $110 million judgment.

It remains unclear whether the full awards in those two latter cases were ultimately upheld.

New Yorkers ‘Accelerating’ Florida Move Plans After Mamdani Victory

Zohran Mamdani’s unexpected win in New York City’s Democratic mayoral primary has sent shockwaves through the city’s elite real estate circles, with many affluent buyers already taking concrete steps toward relocating—particularly to Florida, Newsweek reports.

“Within a day of the primary results, we had serious inquiries from buyers in Manhattan and Connecticut,” Isaac Toledano, CEO & Co-founder of BH Group, told Newsweek. “One asked about the Ritz-Carlton Residences in West Palm Beach, the other about the West Pompano Beach Hotel & Residences,” he said.

For these high-net-worth individuals, the idea of moving out of New York isn’t just a backup plan in case Mamdani becomes mayor—it’s an investment move already underway.

“A few weeks ago, we sold two penthouses at the Ritz-Carlton Residences in Hammock Dunes near St. Augustine for a combined $20 million, which set records for Palm Coast and all of Flagler County,” Toledano noted.

“One of those buyers was from New Jersey. He already had a part-time home in Florida but decided he wanted to be here full-time. I can’t say if that particular transaction was because of everything leading up to the election, but it’s another clear sign that people across the country are choosing to plant roots here,” he continued. “When conversations start moving that fast, it tells you people aren’t just paying attention. They’re preparing to make real decisions.”

The political upheaval has quickened the pace of interest from out-of-state buyers, according to Peggy Olin, CEO of OneWorld Properties, which oversees sales and marketing for many of South Florida’s top-tier developments.

“Mamdani’s victory seems to have accelerated those conversations. People are asking more questions about timing, taxes, and long-term lifestyle changes. It’s less about panic and more about planning. They’re being proactive,” Olin told Newsweek.

Jay Batra, head of Batra Real Estate with offices in both New York and Miami, has also noticed the shift, saying buyers are now hesitating in NYC and redirecting their focus toward Florida.

“We’re seeing a noticeable pause among luxury buyers in New York City, many of whom are redirecting their search to more tax-friendly, lifestyle-driven markets like Miami and South Florida,” Batra said. “With political and economic uncertainty in NYC, high-end clients are increasingly turning to South Florida for both primary and investment properties.”

Batra attributed much of the anxiety among wealthy clients to Mamdani’s proposals on rent regulations, especially the idea of a citywide freeze.

“Our clients who own buildings across NYC are deeply concerned about the rent freeze tied to Mayor Mamdani’s agenda. Landlords are facing mounting pressure—with high taxes and operating costs, it’s becoming unsustainable to hold properties without the ability to adjust rents,” he said. “Many are now evaluating out-of-state investments as a safer, more profitable alternative.”

Mamdani has also raised eyebrows with his pitch to overhaul the city’s tax policies, suggesting wealthier, whiter neighborhoods should bear a heavier tax burden—an idea that’s sparking concern among the investor class.

“High-end buyers value stability above all else,” said Toledano. “The moment politics feel unpredictable, they start exploring other options,” he added.

The results of the primary have made many well-off investors reevaluate their outlook on New York’s future. “Whether it’s taxes, safety, or the overall business climate, uncertainty makes people uneasy. No one wants to wake up one morning and feel their investment or their family’s security is at risk,” said Toledano. “They want peace of mind, and they’re ready to make a change to find it.”

Olin echoed that concern, saying political rhetoric can quickly influence the decision-making process of the affluent. “When political narratives shift, especially around taxes, wealthy buyers take notice. These are people who’ve spent their lives building something, and they want to protect it,” she said. “Mamdani represents a vision for the city that some high-end buyers feel may no longer align with their values or financial goals. It’s not a reaction out of fear but out of wanting more control over their future.”

Florida continues to draw wealthy investors not only for its tax-friendly climate but because of its booming luxury property market and strong lifestyle offerings.

“They’re looking for the best of the best. Buyers at this level don’t want to compromise on location, design, or quality of life. Branded residences are part of the appeal because they offer strong amenities and a lifestyle people can rely on,” Toledano said.

“If you’re spending several million dollars on a home, you expect security, service, and long-term value. That’s why we’re seeing interest not only across South Florida but also in places like Hammock Dunes and on the West Coast in Naples. People feel confident they’re making a solid investment in a place they’ll enjoy living.”

Another big selling point: Florida’s tax code. With no personal income tax and potential reductions in property taxes on the horizon, many are drawn to the state’s financial advantages.

“Florida checks all the boxes. No state income tax, a strong pro-growth economy, top-tier schools and infrastructure, and a lifestyle that’s hard to match. You can live near the beach, raise a family, and still feel like your investment is protected. For many buyers, that combination is powerful,” Toledano said.

He believes what’s happening now is just the beginning of a larger trend—one that could accelerate in the coming months.

“People don’t wait until after an election to make decisions about their families, their finances, or their future. A few calls today can turn into dozens or hundreds of buyers in the months ahead,” he said. “If the uncertainty grows, the migration will only pick up speed.”

And Florida, particularly South Florida, is poised to benefit from that shift.

“It offers a sense of security they’re not feeling in New York right now. That’s why I believe this summer and the rest of the year could be busier than anyone expects,” Toledano said. “The demand is there, and the interest we’re seeing—from Manhattan to New Jersey to Connecticut—is proof that people are ready to move their lives and their capital here.”

If Mamdani is elected and the policies he’s championed come to fruition, Olin believes the current wave of interest could turn into an even larger outflow.

“Should Mamdani be elected mayor of New York City and the policy concerns feared by wealthy buyers materialize, it could push more people to act,” Olin said.

“But again, this isn’t just about leaving, it’s about choosing a place that feels like the right fit for the next chapter. And for many, Florida checks a lot of those boxes.”

AGAIN: Trump: I Won’t Let Communist Lunatic Zohran Mandani Destroy New York

President Donald Trump again pledged to stop Zohran Mamdani—whom he labeled a “communist lunatic”—from ruining New York City, reacting to the Democratic Socialist’s surprise win in last week’s mayoral primary.

Taking to Truth Social on Wednesday, Trump declared, “As President of the United States, I’m not going to let this Communist Lunatic destroy New York. Rest assured, I hold all the levers, and have all the cards. I’ll save New York City, and make it ‘Hot’ and ‘Great’ again, just like I did with the Good Ol’ USA!”

Trump has taken repeated aim at Mamdani in recent days. During a press gaggle outside the White House on Tuesday, he said, “I think he’s terrible. He’s a communist. The last thing we need is a communist.” He then added, “I think I’m going to have a lot of fun watching him because he has to come right through this building to get his money.”

He didn’t stop there, continuing, “Frankly, I heard he’s a total nutjob. I think the people of New York are crazy, if they go this route, I think they’re crazy.”

The President also warned about Mamdani’s far-left platform, saying, “We will have a communist, for the first time, a pure, true communist. He wants to operate the grocery stores. What about the people who are there? I think it’s crazy.”

Mayor Eric Adams has also entered the fray, positioning himself as a counterforce to Mamdani. In response to a New York Post headline that read, “NYC SOS: Who will save city after radical socialist batters Cuomo in Dem mayoral primary?”, Adams said: “I’m going to take this SOS. Who will save city … ‘Eric.’”

Mamdani’s win has sparked growing concern among New York’s Jewish residents, particularly in light of his outspoken opposition to Israel. Just 48 hours after the October 7 massacre carried out by Hamas, Mamdani issued statements condemning Israel, even before the Jewish state had launched any counteroffensive. He has also refused to back measures denouncing the Holocaust and has spoken in defense of the slogan “globalize the Intifada,” a phrase widely interpreted as inciting violence against Jews worldwide.

Hamas: We’re Studying Mediators’ Latest Ceasefire Proposal

The Hamas terrorist group has announced that it is giving serious consideration to the latest ceasefire plan presented by international mediators and is currently conducting internal discussions on the matter.

This statement from Hamas comes in the wake of President Donald Trump’s declaration on Tuesday that Israel has agreed to the conditions necessary to move forward with a ceasefire agreement in Gaza and a corresponding arrangement for the release of hostages.

Taking to his Truth Social platform, Trump called on Hamas to accept the proposed deal, cautioning that the alternative would only lead to more suffering. “My Representatives had a long and productive meeting with the Israelis today on Gaza. Israel has agreed to the necessary conditions to finalize the 60 Day CEASEFIRE, during which time we will work with all parties to end the War,” wrote the President.

Trump credited Qatar and Egypt for their efforts in advancing peace and delivering the proposal to Hamas, expressing hope that the group would make the right decision.

Earlier Tuesday, reports indicated that Qatar had formally offered a new plan to Israel that included a 60-day pause in fighting. As part of the proposal, eight living hostages would be released immediately, with another two to be freed on the 50th day of the ceasefire.

Iranian Hackers Threaten to Leak 100GB of Stolen Trump Team Emails

A hacker collective with ties to Iran is asserting that it has obtained a large cache of private emails from individuals close to President Donald Trump and is threatening to release the data, in what U.S. authorities are labeling an orchestrated political attack.

Using the pseudonym “Robert,” the group claims to have gathered over 100 gigabytes of email communications belonging to several prominent Trump associates, including White House chief of staff Susie Wiles, Roger Stone, attorney Lindsey Halligan, and adult film star Stormy Daniels.

Reuters reported the development on Tuesday after engaging directly with the group, which floated the possibility of monetizing the stolen content but declined to elaborate on how or when such a sale might happen.

The timing of the threat coincides with Trump’s recent decision to abandon a tentative plan to soften sanctions against Iran. That reversal came in the wake of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s dismissive remarks about American and Israeli airstrikes on Iranian nuclear assets. A senior Iranian cleric subsequently declared a religious decree—fatwa—against Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, calling them “enemies of God.”

“This so-called cyber ‘attack’ is nothing more than digital propaganda,” said Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) spokesperson Marci McCarthy. She described the effort as a “calculated smear campaign” designed to “damage President Trump and discredit honorable public servants.”

The hackers assert that their actions were triggered by the U.S.’s recent role in the 12-day war between Israel and Iran. Trump, who has taken credit for brokering a ceasefire that ended the hostilities, is now being blamed by the group for what they describe as renewed provocation.

Federal officials have already tied the group to Iran. As reported by Axios, an indictment filed in 2024 charged three Iranian operatives associated with the “Robert” hackers in connection with a previous breach involving Trump-related systems. Prosecutors linked their activity directly to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Musk Suggests Trump Ally Bannon Is Going Back To Prison ‘For A Long Time’

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, reignited his ongoing clash with Steve Bannon on Tuesday by declaring that Bannon is headed back to prison.

“Bannon is going back to prison,” Musk posted on X, replying to a user who claimed that Bannon had suggested the U.S. government should seize control of Musk’s space ventures. “This time for a long time.”

The rift between the two public figures began earlier this summer when Bannon, speaking out in June, encouraged Trump officials to investigate Musk’s immigration history. He hinted that the billionaire entrepreneur may have violated visa laws during his early years in the United States. Bannon has also accused Musk of drug abuse, citing a New York Times report from May which stated that Musk used “ketamine often, sometimes daily, and mixing it with other drugs.”

Bannon hasn’t held back in criticizing Musk’s short-lived role at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a federal task force meant to eliminate bureaucratic waste. He’s made Musk’s time there a recurring point of mockery.

Back in 2020, Bannon faced serious legal trouble when he was charged with fraud and money laundering in connection to the “We Build the Wall” initiative, which sought donations for Trump’s southern border barrier. Although Trump pardoned him in 2021, Bannon was later prosecuted and convicted in 2022 for defying a congressional subpoena related to the January 6 investigation. That conviction earned him a four-month stint in federal prison.

Musk has recently clashed with Trump over policy matters, notably the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. On Monday, Musk took to social media promising to campaign against Republicans who supported the bill, declaring he would help ensure they “lose their primary (election) next year.” Bannon, in turn, has pushed back hard.

“This was the guy that told the president he was going to cut two trillion dollars of waste, fraud and abuse, but then he backed it off to one trillion,” Bannon said Monday on his War Room podcast. “I don’t know, folks, I know some of you fanboys said we got $160 billion, but we haven’t seen the $160 billion. What we do have is a $9 billion rescission, and all of that is programmatic.”

Report: Former DNC Insider Reveals ‘Puppet Masters’ Who Allegedly Ran Biden White House

A former high-level Democratic operative has come forward with explosive claims about who was really directing activity inside the Biden White House, describing the situation as “elder abuse” and claiming the president was often not the one in control.

Lindy Li, a previous fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee and member of its National Finance Committee, told Fox News Digital that behind the scenes, others were effectively calling the shots for President Joe Biden.

Her remarks came as the House Oversight Committee launched hearings into the alleged concealment of Biden’s cognitive deterioration by top members of his administration.

“‘[Biden is] definitely complicit, but there were a lot of people behind him, like puppet masters. [Former first lady Jill Biden] very much knew what she was doing. What she did was absolutely elder abuse. There is no question in my mind,’ Li said,” Fox reported.

Li, who said she witnessed the inner workings up close, pointed to senior adviser Anthony Bernal as a central figure in orchestrating day-to-day White House activity. “They deny the cover-up, but I had a front-row seat watching it happen. People like Anthony Bernal. I saw him running the White House like he was in charge, like he was a king,” she said. “It’s just so amazing now to see him dodge a subpoena and completely dodge accountability. He can run, but he can’t hide. His name is going to go down in infamy forever.”

According to Fox News Digital, Bernal was initially scheduled to appear voluntarily before the Oversight Committee on June 26 for a recorded interview. However, once the White House Counsel’s office notified him that executive privilege would not be invoked in this case, Bernal declined to show up.

Li further claimed that Bernal, who also held the role of chief of staff to the first lady, wielded considerable influence and remained close to Jill Biden at all times. “Li said Bernal, who also served as the first lady’s chief of staff, ‘followed Jill around like a dog.’ While Bernal’s apparent power grab coincided with Jill Biden’s growing role in the Biden White House, Li added that he ran the East Wing more than the West Wing.”

Fox’s report also indicated that Li identified several other top officials she said were effectively managing the presidency. Among them were deputy chief of staff Bruce Reed, counselor Steve Richetti, and senior advisors Anita Dunn and Mike Donilon.

Li also alleged that Neera Tanden, Biden’s former domestic policy advisor, played a key role in authorizing the use of the autopen for signing documents when Biden was not mentally capable of performing the functions of his office. According to Li, Tanden “played an ‘intricate’ role in using the autopen when ‘Biden was manifestly unqualified and unable to prosecute the duties of the office.'”

HOMAN: Migrant Arrests at Borders Drop 41 Percent in June to New Record Low — Zero Admitted to U.S.

Arrest statistics shared on social media by Border Czar Tom Homan reveal a dramatic drop in migrant apprehensions at the U.S. border, with just over 6,000 arrests recorded in June. This marks the lowest monthly figure in the history of modern Border Patrol tracking and shows a 41 percent drop compared to May’s numbers.

“THE TRUMP EFFECT – Total Border Patrol encounters for the entire month of June 2025 was 6,070. That is less than a single day under Biden,” Border Czar Homan posted on X on Tuesday. “Also, none of the 6,070 were released into the U.S. ZERO.”

Compared to the 10,362 people taken into custody in May, June’s numbers represent a sharp decrease. When compared to June of the previous year—when over 87,000 migrants were arrested—the decline is more than 93 percent.

“President Trump has created the most secure border in the history of the nation and the data proves it,” Homan stated. “We have never seen numbers this low.”

Before this, the lowest monthly total came earlier this year under Trump’s leadership, when 8,193 illegal crossings were recorded in March.

Last month, Border Patrol encountered an average of just over 202 individuals per day. During Biden’s tenure, the highest daily average was in May 2022, when agents were processing more than 7,500 migrants per day—a figure that exceeded the entire monthly total under Trump this June.

“The interior arrests and consequences help to drive down illegal immigration,” Trump’s border czar asserted.

When Trump took office in February, Border Patrol reported 43,878 arrests for that month. In fact, the total number of apprehensions during the first five months of Trump’s administration is still lower than any single month under Biden.

“God bless the men and women of the US Border Patrol and God bless the men and women of ICE,” Homan stated. “The TRUMP EFFECT keeps America winning.”

Gavin Newsom Copies Trump, on Wildfires: ‘Make America Rake Again’

California Governor Gavin Newsom, facing intense scrutiny over his handling of wildfires during his time in office, unveiled a new initiative Tuesday that echoes President Donald Trump’s past advice to clean forest floors — this time under the slogan “Make America Rake Again.”

Wildfires have been a persistent and devastating issue in California throughout Newsom’s governorship, with many accusing him of inaction and empty rhetoric as destructive blazes ravaged the state under his leadership.

For years, Democrats ridiculed Trump for suggesting that California could reduce wildfires by clearing forest debris — a strategy often reduced to “raking.” Newsom himself publicly derided the concept during a 2020 appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, dismissing the idea entirely and poking fun at residents who displayed “Make America Rake Again” signs. “We have no raking policy,” he said mockingly.

Fast forward to Tuesday, and Newsom appeared to have shifted his tone dramatically. In a speech given in Placer County, he resurrected the same slogan he once mocked — “Make America Rake Again” — in an apparent attempt to repackage the concept as his own and aim blame at federal authorities.

Seeking to redirect attention, Newsom argued that the federal government is responsible for managing the vast majority of California’s land — about 57% — while the state controls just 3%. He said that several recent wildfires began on federally managed terrain, though he overlooked the fact that some of the worst fires this year, such as those in Los Angeles, started on state land.

“The president of the United States needs to do more to back up his rhetoric with investments and resources to roll back the cuts,” Newsom said, referencing reductions in federal support. He added that California is currently engaged in 2,200 vegetation management efforts and is spending $350 million of its own budget to thin brush on federal property.

“The Trump administration needs to step up and they need to fund these efforts, not just here in California, but throughout the Western United States,” Newsom said, a day after approving a $322 billion state budget.

Newsom’s record during past crises hasn’t helped his case. When asked by CNN about the dry fire hydrants during the Palisades Fire, he deflected responsibility, saying locals should “figure that out,” offering no solution himself.

Even as he adopted Trump’s language, Newsom couldn’t resist another jab at the president. “He quite literally thinks you should just go out and rake the forest,” Newsom said, implying Trump lacked intelligence.

At the same time, Newsom is requesting $40 billion in disaster relief from Trump to address the damage from the Los Angeles fires, even while authorizing $50 million in state spending to counter what he sees as federal shortcomings.

Australian Nurses Who Threatened Israelis Hit With Nationwide Ban

Two nurses from Australia who openly stated they would not treat Israelis have now been barred from working with individuals supported by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) for the next two years, according to a report by Jewish News on Tuesday. This move comes after the pair had already been suspended from their roles at Bankstown Hospital in Sydney.

Ahmad Rashad Nadir and Sarah Abu Lebdeh were filmed in a February conversation with TikTok user Max Veifer, during which they remarked that Israelis should be “sent to hell.”

The video led to a probe by New South Wales police. During the course of the investigation, both nurses reportedly expressed remorse, claiming that their statements were not meant to be taken literally.

Lebdeh has been formally charged with several serious crimes, including threatening violence against a group, using a carriage service to issue death threats, and using that service to intimidate, offend, or harass. She faces the possibility of a 22-year prison sentence if convicted.

Nadir, too, has been hit with federal charges. He stands accused of using a carriage service to harass, menace, or offend, and of illegal drug possession.

At present, both individuals are out on bail. Neither has entered a plea. Their next court appearance is set for July 29. As part of their release terms, they are forbidden from traveling outside Australia or using social media for the duration of the legal proceedings.

The NDIS-wide ban, which took effect on May 9, blocks both Nadir and Lebdeh from working with any NDIS clients or participating in any capacity with NDIS providers, regardless of region or jurisdiction within Australia.

Minister Golan to Always Biased Piers Morgan: Children In Gaza Are Being Raised On Mein Kampf

Israeli Minister for Social Equality and the Advancement of Women, May Golan, appeared in a heated exchange with British broadcaster Piers Morgan on Tuesday, strongly defending both her country’s military efforts in Gaza and her own widely debated past statements.

Addressing the issue of how Palestinian children are raised, Golan accused Gaza’s society of inciting hatred from an early age. “The fact is that we have children in Gaza today that are being raised on Mein Kampf. They are being raised [to kill] Jews from the second they are born. This is what they say. And you know what? If you don’t believe me, you can talk with the hostages that came back from captivity,” she said.

Morgan challenged Golan over a series of incendiary remarks she’s made in the past. He referenced her words at an October 24 rally where she is reported to have called for “another Nakba.” He also brought up her February 2024 declaration: “I’m personally proud of the ruins of Gaza and that every baby, even 80 years from now, will tell their grandchildren what the Jews did.” Additionally, he mentioned her December 2023 comment: “I don’t care about Gaza. I literally don’t care at all.”

When asked about her ideological association with figures such as Ministers Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben Gvir, Golan stood her ground, firmly affirming her political stance. “I’m a right winger as well. I’m a right winger as well. Absolutely,” she confirmed. However, she clarified her position, adding, “That doesn’t mean I take any pleasure, any pleasure of an innocent Arab man or woman or child in Gaza suffering. But the fact is that you, for some reason, refuse to acknowledge is that Hamas is using them as human shields all the time.”

The interview also addressed accusations about the situation on the ground in Gaza. Morgan alleged that Israel had implemented a “three-month blockade of food” and was actively obstructing humanitarian supplies. Golan rejected the claim without hesitation, saying, “We do not. That’s a lie. That’s a complete lie.”

Analysis: Mamdani Apologists Play The Fake Islamophobia Card

By Jonathan S. Tobin

It didn’t take long for the Democratic Party’s media cheering section to demonstrate how far the Overton Window had moved among liberals with respect to antisemitism. Centrist Democrats and the liberal Jewish establishment were genuinely shocked by Zohran Mamdani’s victory in last week’s Democratic Party mayoral primary in New York City. Within days, however, it was clear that legacy outlets reflecting mainstream opinion on the political left weren’t going to tolerate much in the way of criticism of his extremist views about Israel and the Jews.

Within days, it was clear that anyone who claimed that Mamdani should be rejected out of hand as a possible mayor of New York on the grounds of stands that were, at best, antisemitism-adjacent or, at worst, open endorsements of Jewish genocide, rather than the candidate himself, were going to be the ones under fire. Within 48 hours of Mamdani’s win, The New York Times was already using the word “Islamophobic” in headlines to describe his critics.

Legitimizing antisemitism

It is fear among Democrats about being labeled as Islamophobic that explains why so few prominent members of the party and officeholders are refusing to condemn Mamdani now that the 33-year-old New York state representative has become their party’s nominee. That’s not just smoothing his path to victory for a fellow Democrat, despite the horror that many New Yorkers feel about him. It’s also achieving something the political left has been assiduously working toward, especially since the Hamas-led Palestinian Arab attacks on southern Israeli communities on Oct. 7, 2023: the legitimization of antisemitism in the American public square.

While some of the online reaction to Mamdani was inappropriate, the attempt by Democrats and their liberal media cheerleaders to frame the narrative about the opposition to him as one primarily about Islamophobia is fundamentally dishonest.

Characterizing verbal and written criticisms of Mamdani as “racist” is not only a matter of inaccuracy or misinterpretation of those venting their anger and outrage about the prospect of him being mayor of the most Jewish city in the world outside of the State of Israel. Such arguments were the next logical step involved in legitimizing opinions about Israel and Jews, as well as those fighting to destroy it, along with other radical causes.

The issue is not whether the next mayor of New York is a Shia Muslim (he practices the faith of his mother rather than that of his Hindu father). In a city as diverse as New York, few care about Mamdani’s faith or his background as the son of immigrants (his mother was a Gujarati Indian Muslim born in Uganda, and his father an Indian-American of Hindu Punjabi descent).

What matters is the fact that he is a Socialist on economic issues and an adherent of the ideological war on the West being waged by the hard left. His extremist views may well be influenced by his faith and ethnicity. Yet they are just as much a manifestation of the fashionable ideas that label the West and America as irredeemably racist, and Israel and the Jews as “white” oppressors who must be suppressed. In this sense, the New York mayoral campaign has transcended politics. It is, instead, another manifestation of the conquest of American elite institutions of higher education by so-called “progressives” that led to mobs targeting Jews on college campuses since Oct. 7.

Mamdani has been an ardent advocate for the cause of “free Palestine,” which is to say the effort to “free” the territory—meaning, from the Jewish population—of the only Jewish state on the planet. That is an idea that ought to be rejected by all decent people everywhere not only because it singles out the Jews for deprivation of rights, such as that of living in peace and sovereignty in their ancient homeland, but also because it can only be achieved by the sort of genocidal wars that Hamas and its Iranian sponsor have long advocated and continue to pursue. This despicable cause has gained increasing support on the political left, largely on the strength of blood libels about Israel committing “genocide” against Palestinian Arabs in Gaza in its just war against Hamas, endorsed by Mamdani and other Democrats.

Suppressing criticism

If, as the Times and other liberal outlets insist, Mamdani’s views are to be accepted as legitimate stands about which we must agree to disagree when discussing them, then what we are witnessing is not a prejudiced reaction to the rise of a non-white Muslim politician. Rather, it is an attempt to suppress criticism of the mainstreaming of antisemitism and other extremist beliefs by the political left.

This tactic has been a staple of the anti-Israel movement for years and has achieved some notable successes, especially during the Biden presidency. The last Democratic administration balanced the lip service it paid to the rise of antisemitism on its watch with an attempt to treat concerns about prejudice against Muslims as being of equal concern.

While all prejudice is deplorable, the problem with virtually all of the discussion about Islamophobia in recent years is that most such attacks against Muslims aren’t actually racist ones.

To the contrary, the comments and stands that are labeled as Islamophobic are almost always attempts to call out the rabid Jew-hatred and virulent prejudicial positions and language that are mainstream discourse among American Muslims, especially on the part of those groups, like the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which purport to represent them.

Such advocacy is based on the false assertion that Muslims are being subjected to widespread attacks and discrimination in the United States. The primary source for this claim is CAIR, a group that masquerades as a civil-rights organization but was founded as a cover for those seeking to raise funds for Hamas terrorists in the United States illegally. CAIR has a consistent record of antisemitism but also seeks to downplay or rationalize Islamist terrorism, like the Oct. 7 attacks.

Moreover, the organization’s claims about the situation of American Muslims and Arabs are simply not backed up by empirical evidence. This dates back to its false assertions that were echoed by most mainstream media about a mythical post-9/11 backlash against Muslims that was largely made out of whole cloth. Contrary to CAIR’s claims (echoed by most liberal media outlets) that it is Muslims who are under siege, FBI hate-crime statistics have shown for the last two and a half decades that American Jews have been the primary victims of acts of religious prejudice in the United States. Attacks on Jews far outnumber those on Muslims by large margins every year, and that is especially true since Oct. 7, 2023, when a surge of antisemitism began, fueled largely by the same kind of anti-Israel bigotry echoed by Mamdani.

Yet at the heart of the Islamophobia discussion is something more sinister than a group hyping something that doesn’t warrant serious concern. What is most disturbing about the attempt to sanitize Mamdani is that it dovetails with the campaign to gaslight Jews about the prejudice and violence to which they have been subjected.

While Mamdani insincerely claims to oppose antisemitism, he is part of a movement that not only endorses terrorism against Israeli Jews but is also linked to violence against Americans.

The meaning behind ‘Globalize the intifada’

In recent months, three separate incidents of anti-Jewish domestic terrorism have taken place, initiated by people claiming to act on behalf of the “free Palestine” cause that Mamdani has embraced. On Passover, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro’s Harrisburg residence was the target of an arson attack. In May, two employees of the Israeli embassy in Washington were gunned down by another “free Palestine” advocate as they left a Jewish museum. In June, a rally in Boulder, Colo., to draw awareness to the plight of the remaining 50 or so hostages being held by Hamas in Gaza was targeted by another “free Palestine” supporter, who said he wanted to kill all Zionists when he threw a Molotov cocktail at them. That assault resulted in injuries to 13 people, including eight who were hospitalized for burns; this week, 82-year-old Karen Diamond died as a result.

That is literally what “Globalize the intifada” means—the chant that Mamdani specifically refuses to condemn—and other catchphrases like “From the river to the sea”: support for terrorism against Jews. Mamdani supports the war against Israel. He opposes its existence as a Jewish state and couldn’t even condemn the Oct. 7 attacks without also treating the Israeli victims as morally equivalent to the Palestinian murderers, rapists and kidnappers and falsely accusing the Jewish state of “apartheid.” To point out the link between his steadfast refusal to disavow such stands and those who kill Jews in Israel or the United States is neither prejudicial nor unfair. On the contrary, it is those that, like the Times or Axios, which assert that it is wrong to link Mamdani’s position to that of global jihad that are wrong.

Moreover, the fact that he has stuck to these positions while being defended as a victim of prejudice by mainstream outlets like the Times is yet another sign of how such antisemitism is no longer a barrier to widespread support from Democrats.

Leading New York and national Democrats could have reacted to the results with across-the-board condemnations of not only Mamdani’s anti-Zionism and unwillingness to condemn the genocidal slogans of Islamist terror. While a few leading Democrats, such as House Minority Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.), have asked him to alter the way he speaks about Israel and to condemn that phrase, they haven’t rejected out of hand the idea of someone who holds such views representing their party in the nation’s largest city.

In recent years, Democrats have been vocal about Republicans needing to disassociate themselves from extremists in their party. Apparently, they didn’t think the same suggestion applied to them. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), who has long claimed to be the shomer or “guardian” of Israel and the Jews in Congress, and most other members of his party, showed little sign of taking such a stand.

Jumping on the bandwagon

The most compelling evidence of how difficult that would be was not long in coming. Mainstream Democrats have shown themselves unable to draw a line in the sand against a figure who is not merely a Socialist but whose candidacy seems to have become a test case for legitimizing antisemitic views on the left. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.), who is no conservative, was widely denounced for criticisms of Mamdani and forced to apologize. As Politico noted, most Democrats are now more interested in jumping on his bandwagon rather than in holding him accountable for his radicalism and anti-Zionism.

Part of this is a “no enemies on the left” attitude. It is an attitude that outlets like the Times, which has helped lead the assault on the West and America with its fallacious “1619 Project,” coupled with its biased coverage of the post-Oct. 7 war against Hamas and its Iranian sponsor, would like Democrats to adopt. The fact that it is mimicked by “woke right” antisemites like former Fox News host Tucker Carlson and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), both of whom despise socialism but identify with Mamdani’s animus for Israel, is unsurprising.

New York isn’t the only place where those who hate Israel and seek to silence or marginalize Jews are dominating the party. In North Carolina, the state’s Democratic Party endorsed smears of Israel and called for an embargo on arms to it. People like Schumer and other Democratic officeholders who may disagree with such rhetoric but understand that their party base is not only comfortable with these blood libels but starting to demand that they go along with it.

But the way this is enforced is more than just a matter of base politics. Nor is it primarily bolstered by the ideological extremism of writers like Michelle Goldberg, Peter Beinart and M. Gessen, who are platformed by the Times and falsely claim that supporting the destruction of the one Jewish state on the planet by means of blood libels and a genocidal terrorist war isn’t antisemitism. It also involves efforts to condemn those calling attention to the alarming legitimization of Jew-hatred by labeling such arguments as Islamophobic and therefore beyond the pale.

What the last few days have shown is that playing the Islamophobia card is how the hard left hopes to facilitate its takeover of the Democratic Party. More than that, it’s a means to whitewash antisemitism and silence supporters of Israel. Publications, politicians and even Jewish groups that are just as concerned about falling out of sync with mainstream liberal opinion as they are about the surge in Jew-hatred that don’t stand up against this false narrative are as much a part of the problem as the controversial candidate himself.
